Railings to be installed on sea wall - minister
- Published
Railings will be installed along the sea wall at La Haule for safety reasons, Jersey's infrastructure minister has said.
The plan has previously been refused permission three times by the planning department.
Infrastructure Minister Constable Andy Jehan said he had since found out the railings do not need permission to be installed.
Environment and Planning Minister Deputy Steve Luce said the works would not require a formal planning submission and the infrastructure department could undertake the work without the need for an approved application.
People had complained railings or a raised edge along the stretch of wall would narrow the path and spoil the view.
Jehan said there was a risk someone could fall.
He added he would push ahead with the plan but he would consult with local people and St Brelade's constable on the design.
