Warning of further airport drainage work noise

Heavy machinery will be used overnight on Thursday and Friday at Ronaldsway

People who live near to the airport on the Isle of Man have been warned to expect two further nights of noise caused by "essential" drainage improvement works.
Rocks will be broken up as part of the project between 20:30 and 05:30 BST on Thursday and Friday, when the airport is closed to flights and passengers.
Heavy machinery will be used to remove rock before new drains are installed to replace ageing infrastructure, an Isle of Man airport spokesman said.
It follows two nights of similar work through the night that took place at the airport on 21 and 22 August.

The wider project was needed as a result of the aging infrastructure at the airport
The scheduled works are part of a wider programme that aims to prevent surface water pooling on the airfield.
In an updated statement ahead of the overnight works, the airport spokesman said the open nature of the site meant noise could be experienced as far away as Derbyhaven, Ballasalla and Castletown.
