Memorial garden plans submitted for explosion site

The government has now put forward its plans for how the memorial would look

After a number of consultations, the Jersey government has unveiled plans for a memorial to those who were killed by the explosion at Haut du Mont.
Ten people lost their lives after Haut du Mont flats, a three-storey building in St Helier, collapsed in December 2022.
The plans, external show footpaths, a children's garden, a small meadow and seating areas for quiet reflection, designed on part of the land where the flats once stood.
Trees and hedges would also provide privacy from nearby roads and walls.
