Four arrested after assault at music festival

A man has been seriously assaulted in the crowd at a music festival.

It is believed to have happened near the main stage at Victorious Festival on Southsea Common in Portsmouth between 19:40 and 21:00 BST on Sunday.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was assaulted by four people, causing bruising to his face and cuts to his head, police said.

A man and three teenage boys have been arrested in connection with the incident.

A 20-year-old man from Southsea and a 15-year-old boy from Portsmouth were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 16-year-old boy from Portsmouth and a 17-year-old boy from Southsea were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

All four have been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries, Hampshire Constabulary said.
