Diversity and inclusion will be the theme of a charity swimming marathon's next edition, organisers have announced.

The 54th Lions Swimarathon is set to take place from 25 to 29 March at Les Quennevais Sports Centre in St Brelade.

The Lions Club of Jersey said the annual event had raised almost £4m since it started in 1972 with thousands of swimmers taking part each year.

Chris Palmer, the organising committee's chairman, said this year's theme had been chosen because it was relatable and a wide range of charities would be able to benefit from it.

Mr Palmer added it was an event for everyone with the age range of swimmers going from four years old to people in their 70s.

"We have some swimmers who have taken part in every single swimarathon and others who are continuing family traditions," he said.

More than £92,000 was raised for charity in 2025 and organisers said swimmers who took part last year would be given priority slots for the next event.
