Staff believe cars of higher value were deliberately targeted

Six cars described as high value have been stolen from a garage forecourt after thieves smashed into the office and took all the keys from a safe.

The break-in at Atherstone Garage in Atherstone, Warwickshire, happened in the early hours of Monday and was discovered by staff.

Sales manager Adam Reid said stolen cars included three BMWs, a Volkswagen and an Audi and described the break-in as "an awful situation".

The BBC has contacted Warwickshire Police for comment.

Staff believe thieves targeted higher value cars, leaving less expensive vehicles on the forecourt.

They have been working to secure the remaining cars while the keys remain missing.

"Police have been informed and CCTV footage being studied," a spokesperson for the garage said.
