A woman has been rescued from the River Ouse in York.
North Yorkshire Police said they were alerted to the incident at about 14:30 BST on Tuesday after the woman entered the water from Skeldergate Bridge.
A force spokesperson said two members of the public entered the water to help bring the woman to safety.
They were assisted by staff and vessels from tour operator City Cruises, and the York Rescue Boat was also in attendance.
The woman was taken to hospital where she was later detained under the Mental Health Act, the spokesperson added.
