'Much-loved' fete returns to Jersey

A "much-loved" event has returned to Jersey, Gorey Fête organisers have said.
Organisers said the event includes a funfair, beach games, entertainment, music and fireworks as well as a "few surprises".
Gorey Fête said its dedicated team of St Martin volunteers, in collaboration with its sponsor Jersey Mutual, have united to bring the event to life for the community and chosen charities.
This year, organisers said the event would include a "quiet and sensory area" and "parents of younger children and breastfeeding mothers can find peace and quiet in the Variety Trailer".
Organisers said: "Expect the usual funfair, beach games, entertainment, music, spaghetti eating, the yard of ale competition and fireworks, with a few surprises in store, too, including a silent disco and a fancy dress competition for the kids.
"Stalls include face painting, kids' activities, jewellery, sea glass creations, hair braiding, kids' toys and games."
