A man in his 40s has been seriously injured in an assault.
Suffolk Police said the incident, involving two men, happened outside the East of England Co-op food store on Hawthorn Drive, in Ipswich, between 21:15 and 21:25 BST on Friday.
One of the men suffered broken ribs and a serious head injury and was taken to hospital where he is in a serious, but stable, condition, the force said.
Police said the second man, believed to be in his 30s, "reportedly fled the scene on a bicycle prior to police arrival".
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage. A police cordon remained in place on Saturday.
