A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car on Teesside.
The 25-year-old man was declared dead at the scene of the crash on the A179 in Hartlepool on Sunday at about 16:15 GMT, Cleveland Police said.
A 27-year-old man has been charged with uninsured driving, driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and knowingly entering the UK without leave.
He is due at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
Any witnesses to the crash, which happened on the westbound carriageway and involved a blue BMW 330, should contact police.
