BBC Radio Norfolk has agreed a new five-year commentary deal with Norwich City Football Club.

Chris Goreham – the voice of Norwich City – will provide full coverage of every kick of every game on FM and DAB, both home and away, starting tomorrow when the Canaries' Championship season begins against Millwall.

As well as commentary on every game, matchday coverage will include in-depth analysis and interviews with manager Liam Manning and members of his squad.

Following matches, Radio Norfolk will continue welcoming fans to the airwaves on Canarycall.

Starting this season, the phone-in will be available as a "watchalong" on the BBC Norfolk website.

BBC executive editor Terry Underhill said: "I'm delighted that the longstanding relationship between BBC Radio Norfolk and Norwich City continues with commentary for all games for the next five years.

"Our coverage of NCFC is the jewel in our crown, and it's great news for fans and listeners that they can hear full commentary on every game with Chris Goreham leading the way."

The relationship between the football club and BBC local radio in Norfolk goes back to the late 1950s, with a more considered service coming in the 1980s.

"We're delighted to be continuing our longstanding relationship with BBC Radio Norfolk," said Norwich City executive director Zoe Webber.

"The team continues to do a wonderful job in ensuring supporters across the region, and further afield, are kept fully up-to-date with all Norwich City fixtures.

"Chris and his commentary are synonymous with so many iconic Norwich City moments. He has long been the voice of Norwich City for the BBC, and we're delighted to see that continue for the foreseeable future."
