Jersey firefighters get long-service awards

Jersey's fire service has given long-service awards to five firefighters for their combined 150 years' of employment.
The island's Lieutenant Governor, Jerry Kyd, presented the firefighters with medal clasps to acknowledge 30 years of service each.
A spokesperson for the fire service commended the firefighters' "dedication", adding "three decades of service is a remarkable achievement".
Sean Mead, an on-call firefighter and one of the recipients, said he was "proud and honoured" to be part of the service.
The 30-year clasps, thin metal bars which can be attached to the ribbon of a medal, were awarded during a ceremony at Government House Jersey.
They were awarded to chief fire officer Paul Brown, watch commander Andy Gallie, firefighter John Richardson, and on-call firefighters Mr Mead and Mark Houghton.
