Rail services disrupted after points failure

Passengers are being warned of cancellations, delays of up to an hour or alterations until late afternoon

Rail passengers are being warned of delays and cancellations due to a points failure at Basingstoke.
The problem means trains going through the station are having to run at a reduced speed on some lines.
National Rail, external said services may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.
The disruption affecting CrossCountry, Great Western and South Western routes is expected until about 16:00 BST.
Routes affected:
CrossCountry between Manchester Piccadilly/Nottingham/Birmingham New Street and Bournemouth
Great Western Railway between Reading and Basingstoke
South Western Railway between London Waterloo and Gillingham/Basingstoke/Salisbury/Yeovil Pen Mill/Honiton/Exeter St Davids/Portsmouth Harbour/Southampton Central/Bournemouth/Poole/Weymouth
