Man in 90s dies following house fire

The fire was reported at 06:55 BST on Westwood Avenue, Kendal

A man in his 90s has died following a house fire.

Cumbria Police said the fire at a property in Westwood Avenue, Kendal, was reported at 06:55 BST.

The man was treated at the scene but later died on his way to hospital.

The force said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service has been approached for comment.
