Three arrested after armed police attend flat

Three men have been arrested after armed police attended an incident in Scarborough town centre.

North Yorkshire Police said it was called to a flat on Pavilion Terrace at about 06:45 BST.

The men, aged 46, 37 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

The 46-year-old man has been taken to Scarborough District Hospital for observation.

Road closures were put in place near the town's railway station, on Valley Bridge Parade and Somerset Terrace.

The force said these remained while officers "searched the scene".

It previously warned roads surrounding the closures were "very busy" due to the disruption, with no access to the station from Westwood.
