"Supernatural" monasteries have inspired students to create a spooky photography exhibition.
Furness College students visited Furness Abbey, in Barrow, and Newcastle College students travelled to Lanercost Priory, near Carlisle, as part of an English Heritage project.
Dr Michael Carter, senior properties historian at the charity, said medieval monasteries had been associated with "things that are spooky" for centuries.
The exhibition - Revenants and Remains - will be available at Furness Abbey, until the end of January.
Senior Youth Engagement Manager Dr Kirsty McCarrison it had been "heart-warming" to see the students engage with the sites.

Dr Carter helped deliver the workshop to the students.
"It was two of the happiest days of my 10-year career at English Heritage," he said.
He said the final pictures featured some "real spine-chillers".
"We are honoured to be able to showcase their work".
