Suspected weapon sees armed police deployed

The incident unfolded in Christchurch Street East in Frome

Four men have been arrested after reports of a man holding a suspected firearm.

Avon and Somerset Police said armed officers were sent to Christchurch Street East in Frome shortly after 15:00 BST, with a police helicopter also deployed.

The four men were arrested nearby. No weapon was found in a subsequent search of a property, the force added.

"The police investigation is continuing and officers remain in the area," police said.
