Biker dies after crash with bus in Highlands

Emergency services were called to the A87 near Cluanie in the Highlands

A motorbike rider has died following a crash with a bus in the Highlands.

Police were called to the A87 Invermoriston to Uig road near Cluanie at 10:40 on Saturday.

The crash involved a green Suzuki Bandit motorbike and a white single-decker bus.

The male biker was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other reports of injuries.

The road was closed for around eight hours while police carried out investigations.

Sgt Calum MacAulay said: "Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn't already spoken to officers to contact us.

"I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have seen the vehicles prior or have dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch."
