Two separate field fires have caused a power cut to more than 250 homes in Rutland.

The fires, one north of Whissendine near Melton Mowbray, and another between Whissendine and Langham, were reported at about 12:00 BST.

These have disrupted overhead power lines, resulting in a complete power outage for about 280 properties across the Whissendine area.

National Grid said engineers were working in the area and estimated restoring power by 21:00.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said it had deployed seven pumps across both sites.
