A new chief officer of Employment, Social Security and Housing has been confirmed.

The Government of Jersey has awarded the role to Sophie Le Sueur who had been acting as interim chief officer since September.

Deputy Lyndsay Feltham said she was "the ideal person" to lead the department since she had held eight different roles in the government since joining in 2005.

Ms Le Sueur said she was "honoured to be appointed" and "passionate" about delivering services to residents.

She said: "Having spent my career in government, I'm passionate about delivering services that truly make a difference to islanders."

Feltham congratulated Ms Sueur on her appointment and said: "Her extensive experience, leadership skills, and commitment to public service make her an ideal person to lead the department."
