A man had to be freed after his car crashed into a Nottingham petrol station’s totem.

Emergency services were called to Texaco in Meadow Lane at about 09:00 BST on Monday after a collision involving two cars.

The road was closed in one direction with drivers diverted from the Daleside roundabout.

The man inside a Vauxhall Insignia, which had come to a halt against the filling station’s petrol prices sign, was rescued by fire crews.
