College 'locked down' after incident nearby

A college said it was "temporarily locked down" after an incident nearby.
Cambridge Regional College (CRC) said it was a precautionary measure after reports a man had been seen with a knife outside its grounds in Kings Hedges Road, Milton, at 10:36 BST on Wednesday.
In a statement on its website, external, CRC said the decision was made on police advice, there had been "no report of harm to students, staff or visitors" and it had fully reopened.
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson confirmed a man had been arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place.

The force said: "We were called to CRC at 10.36am with reports of a man just outside the college grounds who had been seen with a knife.
"The school closed as a precaution and officers attended and searched the area.
CRC's statement said the incident had happened off-campus, near a guided busway.
It said it was "temporarily locked down as a precaution".
"The incident was resolved quickly and police have confirmed there is no further risk to the public," it added.
"We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will continue to take every precaution to ensure everyone remains safe."
