Tewkesbury could get its first Lidl as the chain has submitted a planning application for a new store.

The shop would sit just off junction 9 of the M5, and the supermarket chain is asking people for their views on the new store.

Lidl said it would provide up to 40 jobs for local people, have 117 car parking spaces, along with EV car charging points.

The proposals will be considered by Northway Parish Council's planning committee on Wednesday.

The image is a map of a Lidl store layout, highlighting key features and areas around the store. Here's a breakdown of what it shows:

Lidl Store: Clearly marked with a large Lidl logo.
Store Entrance: Indicated on the map for customer access.
Customer Car Park: A designated area for general parking.
Parent and Child Parking: Specially marked spaces for families.
Accessible Parking: Reserved spots for individuals with disabilities.
Rapid Electric Vehicle Chargers: EV charging stations available on-site.
Service Area: Likely used for deliveries and store operations.
Connecting Path: A pedestrian route linking different parts of the site.
Surrounding Roads: Includes Alexandra Way and the A46, helping to orient the location geographically.Image source, Lidl

According to Lidl's website, the store will be modern, designed to the very latest specification.

If approved, the current building on the site would be demolished.

The shop would be close to the Cotswold Designer Outlet, which has just opened.
