Woman dies after double-decker bus collides with car

A green double-decker bus is stopped in a single-carriageway road with one lane in each direction. A car driver has died after her vehicle collided with a double-decker bus.

Police were called shortly after 18:00 BST on Monday to Church Road in Shanklin, Isle of Wight.

The woman, aged in her 70s, was seriously injured and died at the scene, police said.

Police have appealed for witnesses or dashcam footage of the crash, which involved a Southern Vectis bus and a Fiat Panda.
