An Aberdeen supporter has appeared in court accused of throwing part of a chair which hit and injured one of the team's players at a match in Dundee.

Jack MacKenzie was struck on the head following his side's Scottish Premiership defeat against Dundee United on Saturday.

David Gowans, 31, is accused of acting in a culpable and reckless manner at Tannadice Park by throwing a seat which struck Mr MacKenzie to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

He made no plea during a private hearing at Dundee Sheriff Court and was granted bail, with a special condition not to attend any game involving Aberdeen.
