An inquest has opened into the death of a man who was found unresponsive at his home in Leeds.

Samuel Bronnimann, 25, was found by his partner at an address in Headingley on 25 November after concerns were raised when he did not attend work.

Wakefield Coroner's Court heard police found various drugs and drug paraphernalia in his room and bromazolam and methamphetamine were found in Mr Bronnimann's system.

Assistant coroner Naomi McLoughlin told the court on Friday that the cause of death was given as aspiration and pneumonia with a background of mixed drug use.

She said Mr Bronnimann, who was from New Zealand, was known to use drugs but was not thought to be an addict.

A full inquest will take place at a later date.
