A man has died at a holiday park on the Isle of Wight.

The man, who was 29, was found in a caravan at Thorness Bay Holiday Park, near Cowes on Saturday shorty after 09:20 BST.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said he was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The force said the death was "deemed as unexpected" and remained under investigation by police on behalf of the Isle of Wight Coroner.

A spokesperson for Thorness Bay Holiday Park said: “We are working to support police with their investigations after an isolated incident.

"As those investigations are ongoing, we can’t comment further.”
