Lorry inferno after tyre blow-out

The lorry caught fire in Peto Way in Lowestoft

A lorry was gutted in a fire after one of its tyres blew out.

Fire crews and police officers were called to Peto Way in Lowestoft, Suffolk, at 08:07 GMT.

The fire destroyed the 44-tonne articulated lorry, which was loaded with frozen goods, said Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service.

Police said no-one was injured. Highways teams were helping clear the road.

Crews from Wrentham and Lowestoft South stations attended. Firefighters used breathing apparatus and two hose jets.
