A Metropolitan Police officer has appeared in court charged with four counts of rape.
PC Robert Wing, 57, of Waltham Forest, north-east London, is also accused of two counts of sexual assault by penetration and one of sexual assault. The charges relate to alleged incidents that took place between 2011 and 2016.
The officer, who is attached to the Specialist Operations unit, appeared briefly at Westminster Magistrates' Court to confirm his name, age and address, but did not enter any pleas.
He was arrested on 1 March 2023 on suspicion of rape and suspended from the Met Police. The force's Directorate of Professional Standards was informed, Scotland Yard said.
PC Wing was granted bail to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 24 September.
