Second murder charge over fatal house fire

A second man has been charged with murder after a man died following a house fire in Birmingham.
Daniel Gardner, 37, died in hospital after he was seriously injured in the blaze on Saxons Way, Highters Heath, shortly before 01:10 BST on Friday.
Tyler Phythian, 18, of Cherrywood Road, Birmingham, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday charged with murder and was remanded into custody until a plea hearing on 25 November.
In a statement, Mr Gardner's family described him as a "devoted son, daddy, brother and nephew".
"Words cannot describe the unbearable pain and devastation we all feel," they added.
"You gave everything and never expected anything in return."
Stephen Dale, 47, also of Cherrywood Road, Birmingham, was charged on Sunday with Mr Gardner's murder and was remanded into custody ahead of a plea hearing at the same court on 25 November.
