Call to claim Cleethorpes memorial plaques

The council is looking for the owners of the memorial plaques in Pier Gardens, Cleethorpes

People are being urged to claim memorial plaques placed in a public garden ahead of a major revamp.
North East Lincolnshire Council said owners need to come forward for the plaques placed in Pier Gardens, Cleethorpes, before they are removed from 3 November.
Any plaques not claimed will be held in the council's bereavement services for a year.
The removal of the items will make way for a makeover of Pier Gardens which is part of a wider £18.4m regeneration of Cleethorpes.

The Pier Gardens revamp will include specific zoned areas, such as water play, terraced play features, a flexible event space and a quieter area
Over the summer, the council contacted owners of plaques within the gardens and have been working on agreed relocations.
However, some of the plaques do not have owner records, the council said.
The authority stated that, where a new location has been agreed, the memorial signs will be installed in the same week they are removed.
People who think they have a plaque in the gardens are advised to contact the council's bereavement services team.
Councillor Henry Hudson, the council's portfolio holder for environment and net zero, said: "We know memorial plaques mean a lot to people, and we'd like to see owners come forward and have a chat about the next steps.
"We have various different options that people can choose from but, at this stage, we just need to identify who owns what."
