Security guard assaulted while stopping shoplifter

A security guard was assaulted while trying to stop a man stealing from a shop, police have said.
Sussex Police are appealing for the identity of a man following the assault in Horsham.
The force said the man entered the Morrisons Daily store on Springfield Road and attempted to steal on the evening of 5 October.
The security guard tried to stop the man and was assaulted. He is in hospital with facial injuries but is recovering.
Officers added it is believed a second man may have been injured during the incident.
Police have released an image of a man that could help with the investigation and is seeking any witnesses to the assault as well as the other potential male victim.
