Limerick murder: Man arrested in Northern Ireland

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in Northern Ireland after a woman in her 20s was murdered in the Republic of Ireland.

Her body was found in an apartment block on Dock Road in Limerick city at 13:30 local time on Tuesday.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland arrested the man on Thursday on suspicion of murder.

He was taken to a police station in Belfast for questioning.

Gardaí (Irish police) have conducted extensive searches around buildings in Limerick close to where the woman's body was found.
