Peterborough United fans have been celebrating after their side won the English Football League Trophy at Wembley.

Posh, who previously won the cup a decade ago in 2014, took on Wycombe Wanderers at the iconic west London stadium.

About 42,000 supporters watched as Harrison Burrows scored twice with just minutes remaining to clinch a 2-1 win.

What did Posh fans make of the match?

Polly Knight, 41, admitted "nails were being bitten" late in the game when Wycombe equalised ahead of Burrows' winning goal.

"In the second half, every time we scored, they were straight back and that just makes it so stressful to watch," she said.

"We played well, we lost a few opportunities, but we got the result we needed in the end."

She said she was "ecstatic" about the win.

Son Jenson, 11, said it was his first visit to Wembley and that the whole experience came "pretty top" in his life so far.

He said the world-famous London venue was "amazing; it's such a big stadium".

Of the match itself, he said: "It was very nerve-racking, it was hard when they scored back straight away."

He named Burrows his man of the match.

John McMullan was also present 10 years ago when Posh last won the competition

For 71-year-old fan John McMullan, the win brought back happy memories of the last time Posh won the trophy in 2014, for which he was also present.

For him the credit goes to Posh's manager, a fellow Glaswegian.

"Ten years ago, we were here with Darren Ferguson. That was his first time as manager - here we are 10 years later and he's back as manager".

The fan of 40 years admitted it was a close game and praised Burrows for finding the net twice in the last few minutes.

"I'm sure we will be back here in the next 10 years - go for the triple, why not!"

James McCaskie has supported the side since 2004

James McCaskie, 29, thought the match was "a bit too close".

He said: "Wycombe aren't very good and we are the much better side, but we made them look good for the first 85 minutes, in the second half we were the much, much better side but we couldn't convert it into goals.

"When it went to 1-1, I thought we had definitely lost it because their goal was an unbelievable finish but Burrows did it, top corner. We can't ask for much more."

A Peterborough fan since 2004, he said the trophy win was exactly what he wanted from his Sunday at Wembley: "Cup winners, second time in 10 years - I'm feeling really, really good."

Tray Blake and his family attended their first football game after moving from the United States

American Tray Blake moved to Peterborough six months ago, but found himself at Wembley after he was told by a friend that supporting a local team was part of the culture.

The 35-year-old was impressed with his first-ever football experience.

"It was ecstatic, I got chills, the hair raised and I felt like I was living through a dream, it was just euphoric," he said.

He enjoyed the energy in the stadium, although admitted he struggled to follow the chants because of the accents and "had to mumble along".

Mr Blake praised Harrison Burrows who, he said, "definitely came through for his team".

The father-of-three said he would be catching more Peterborough games in the future.
