Theme park working with police after teen death

A spokesperson for Dreamland said they were working with police

A seaside amusement park says it is working with Kent Police as they investigate the circumstances of the death of a teenage girl.

A Dreamland spokesperson said: "We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of a 17-year-old in hospital on Saturday."

Officers were contacted just before 18:00 BST on Saturday and "made aware of the death" at the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother hospital in Margate, said Kent Police.

A spokesperson for the South East Coast Ambulance Service said the girl had been taken to hospital "by the medical team of the venue she attended".

Dreamland said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman’s family and friends and we will continue to work closely with Kent Police where relevant as they investigate this tragedy further."

Kent Police said enquiries were taking place to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.

The force has been approached for more details.

On Saturday an event called Worried About Henry was taking place at the theme park.

The promoters of the event said on Sunday they had been made aware of the death.
