A dispersal order has been put in place by Derbyshire Police to deal with anti-social begging and drinking in Derby city centre.

The force said its PCs and PCSOs would be using the temporary powers to move people along who were being anti-social.

The area does not include Pride Park, where Derby County will play Leyton Orient on Saturday at 15:00 BST.

The order lasts for 48 hours and ends on Sunday.

Sgt Jamie Millard said: "In recent weeks we’ve seen an increase in anti-social behaviour in the city centre so this dispersal order has been put in place for over the weekend as a way of helping us tackle that."
