A fault in an air conditioning unit caused a fire at Jersey's airport, an investigation has found.

More than 200 passengers and staff were evacuated from the building on Saturday morning, causing flight delays in the afternoon.

Ports of Jersey said a belt used for air conditioning had "slipped" and "heat was generated from the friction".

It said an investigation was underway into what caused the belt to slip.
