People have been asked for their views on proposals to improve transport, travel and public spaces in a town.

Shropshire Council said it had put forward "an emerging list of projects" for Ludlow, to see which ones residents and businesses would like to see progress if funding becomes available.

The ideas involve improving public spaces, including in Bull Ring and Tower Street, enhancing Castle Square and creating better bus connections and walking and cycling infrastructure.

Feedback and comments can be left, external on the council's website until Sunday 3 March.

"This is very much an emerging list of projects for Ludlow that could be carried out in the coming months and years, if there is public support and if funding can be secured," said Dan Morris, cabinet member for highways.

"We hope it’s a list that will grab people’s attention and generate debate and discussion."

The proposals include:

  • Galdeford Masterplan - Schemes to provide an "improved pedestrian experience" and gateway into the town centre

  • King Street Public space and streetscape improvements

  • Broad Street Improving the environment for pedestrians

  • Castle Square Enhancing the square and prioritising access for pedestrians
