Police reminder on black registration plates

Police are warning drivers about the laws on black registration plates as a vintage motoring festival takes place in Jersey.
Insp David Turnbull said black registration plates with white, silver or light grey digits were only legal on cars made before 1 January 1976.
He urged motorists to "make sure your vehicle complies with the law".
He issued the warning as the Jersey International Motoring Festival, which is run by the Classic and Vintage Motor Racing Club of Jersey, takes place from Thursday until Sunday.
On the festival website, organisers said it was the "largest motoring event in the Channel Islands" and provided a free event for locals and visitors.
