Two men arrested over a stabbing in Leicester city centre have been bailed.

Officers were called to Millstone Lane shortly before 16:30 GMT on Friday after a 19-year-old man was stabbed.

He was taken to hospital, where he is being treated for injuries not believed to be life-threatening, Leicestershire Police said.

A 19-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, remains in custody, while two other men, also 19, detained on suspicion of assisting an offender have now been released on bail.

Det Con Olivia England, from the force's complex investigation team (CIT), said: "While a number of people have been arrested in connection with the incident, I believe there were other people involved.

"Our investigation is continuing and I'd ask anyone who might have information but who has not yet spoken to police to come forward.

"We know footfall in the area around the time the incident occurred will have been high and I'd like to speak to anyone who was in Millstone Lane, Friar Lane or any of the surrounding streets at the time."
