A damaged bridge will close to all vehicles for five days for repairs.
Cumberland Council said Sebergham Bridge, will shut so its parapet wall can be fixed.
The authority said a section of the B5305 will close to traffic, including emergency vehicles, from 18 November.
A signed diversion route will be in place and waste collection will also be affected.
Though works will take place during the day, the road will remain closed to traffic throughout the period, the council said.
Missed waste collections will resume the following week.
