Man arrested after girl assaulted outside school

A man has been arrested after a girl was assaulted outside a primary school in Nottingham.
The girl was walking to Robin Hood Primary School in Bestwood with two other pupils when a man on a bike struck her with his hand while riding on a footpath off Lechdale Road, police said.
Nottinghamshire Police said the "unprovoked incident" happened shortly before 08:30 GMT on Friday and was reported after the pupils told school staff.
A 38-year-old man was arrested the same day and bailed "with conditions" while an investigation continues.
On Monday, Insp Paul Ferguson said: "Since it happened, we have liaised closely with the school and the young victim's family to ensure she receives all the support she needs, while ensuring all evidential opportunities are pursued.
"We treat reports of this nature extremely seriously and we will always do everything we can to identify offenders and ensure they face justice."
