A man has been found guilty of murder after a fatal stabbing in a flat in Derby.

Derbyshire Police said Anthony Tipper, 47, was found dead at his home in Witney Close, Allenton, on 9 January.

Simon Thomason, 52, of HMP Nottingham, was convicted of his murder on Monday, following a two-week trial at Derby Crown Court.

The force said Thomason's accomplice Dale Lynch, 32, of Arkwright Street, Derby, helped dispose of evidence after the stabbing and was convicted of assisting an offender.

The pair will be sentenced at the same court on Thursday.
