A 14-year-old boy has been charged with arson after a large fire broke out at a disused factory.

Twenty fire appliances across Suffolk and Essex were sent to the former Delphi Diesel Systems site on Newton Road, Sudbury, on 28 May.

At the time, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze had taken hold in about half of the building and no-one was believed to have been injured.

The boy is due to appear at Ipswich Youth Court on 3 October.

The site, which made components for the motor industry, closed in 2020, causing hundreds of job losses.
