Police said a man was found with stab wounds on Hoggs Lane, Northfield

A man has been left in a serious condition after he was stabbed.

The victim, in his 20s, was found injured on Hoggs Lane in Northfield, Birmingham, shortly before 18:30 BST on Thursday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said paramedics treated him for serious injuries before taking him to hospital.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed the man was in a serious condition and said officers were investigating.

Police were also called to a stabbing in Dudley town centre

Police were later called to a second stabbing on New Street, Dudley, at about 20:30 BST.

A 33-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and New Street was closed while officers made inquiries.

A police spokesperson said of the Dudley incident: “At this stage, we believe it to be an isolated incident with no risk to the wider public but we will be carrying reassurance patrols in the area.”
