A man in his 50s has been arrested after officers discovered thousands of pounds worth of cash and drugs in a raid.

Gloucestershire Police said officers seized about £17,000 in cash, more than £5,000 worth of cocaine and a banned knife from within a property in Coleford, in the Forest of Dean. Several vehicles were also seized.

The force executed a warrant in the town centre after receiving intelligence about suspected drug dealing.

The man, who is from the Forest of Dean, was arrested on suspicion of the supply of class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.

He remains in police custody while enquiries continue, the force said.

Officers have asked for anyone who has information about drug dealing or suspicious activity in the area to contact them.
