A quad bike rider has died several days after being in a crash with a car.

Michael Armstrong, from the Thrunton area of Northumberland, had been riding a red Honda quad bike on the A697 near Whittingham on 14 November when he collided with a white Volkswagen.

The 58-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died on Monday.

A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving. She has since been released under investigation.

Insp Steve Clare from Northumbria Police appealed for information to "establish what happened in the moments leading to the collision".
