A new part-time 20mph speed limit has been approved for around Inverness' Gaelic primary school, Bun-Sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis.

Highland councillors have agreed the restriction will stretch from either side of the Asda roundabout on Sir Walter Scott Drive.

It will in place during school drop-off and pick-up times, and also lunch-times at nearby Inverness Royal Academy.

The road currently has a 40mph limit.

Consultations were held earlier this year after parents raised concerns about vehicle speeds on the road near the school.

No date has been specified for the restriction's implementation.
