A man has been jailed for two years after losing control of his friend's car and causing a fatal crash.
Danyaal Zubair, 28, pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving and driving a vehicle while uninsured after crashing a black BMW, causing a collision with two other cars.
The driver of one car which Zubair hit, David Pollard, 78, died of complications from injuries he sustained in the crash on 9 February 2023 in Ifield Road, Crawley.
Zubair, of Lucas Close, Maidenbower, was also jailed for 12 weeks on 23 April 2025, after driving while disqualified and uninsured the day before - less than a month after he was provisionally suspended having pleaded guilty.

Danyaal Zubian was also banned from driving for three years
A hearing at Hove Crown Court on Friday 8 August was told that Zubair lost control of the car at speed heading westbound towards the Ifield roundabout, colliding with Mr Pollard's car on the other side of the road.
Mr Pollard died four days after the crash.
A third car also crashed into Zubair after not being able to stop in time, with its driver suffering minor injuries.
Having twice pleaded not guilty, Zubair changed his plea on 25 March 2025, when he received an interim six month driving ban.
Zubair was also banned from driving for three years alongside his prison sentence and will be required to take an extended retest.
Det Cons Sean Stapley of Sussex Police said: "I am pleased to see that the courts have recognised that the actions of Zubair were responsible for the death of David Pollard.
"These incidents can have a devastating impact on everyone involved, as well as their loved ones.
"Our thoughts remain with David's family, and while we recognise that nothing will make up for the tragic loss of life, the sentencing today may bring some peace that the offender was brought to justice."
