A large fire at a meat processing unit tackled by about 40 firefighters was not started deliberately, investigators believe.

Crews were called just after 02:00 GMT to a single-storey unit occupied by food provider ScotBeef on Stafford Road in Wolverhampton on Sunday.

The blaze was contained within an annex and did not spread to the main building, although people living nearby were urged to keep windows and doors shut.

More crews and a structural engineer visited the site on Monday to extinguish hot spots and check the building over.

The fire was believed to have been started accidentally, the fire service concluded.
